Lexus: Quality in a new dimension 🎥

With the LBX model, Lexus is expanding in a generally rather unusual direction. The new SUV, which is only 4.19 meters long, is expected to be a breakthrough on the market, because perfect workmanship and a high level of equipment could also become a recipe for success in the compact car segment. Accordingly, the model name is LBX, which stands for Lexus Breakthrough Crossover.

Colors, textures and surfaces

The small Lexus embodies lightness and practicality without compromising on quality and attention to detail. To personalize luxury, the LBX is offered in four so-called atmospheres. These are not defined by trim level, but focus on expressing different themes such as sophistication or sportiness through colors, textures and finishes. The LBX will go into production at the end of this year, and sales in Europe will begin in early 2024.

All-wheel drive E-Four is optional

The LBX is powered by a self-charging hybrid system with an efficient 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine and electric motor that delivers a maximum output of 100 kW (136 hp) and a maximum torque of 185 Nm. A new, powerful nickel-metal hydride battery supports the drive power during acceleration via the e-motor.

The LBX's SUV features also include the optional E-Four all-wheel drive system, which uses an additional electric motor on the rear axle. When starting off, cornering and on slippery surfaces, the system automatically transfers drive power to the rear wheels, keeping the vehicle stable and ensuring that the driver is always in control.

Architecture of a small car

The LBX is the first Lexus model to be based on a variant of the GA-B global small car platform. This has been fundamentally revised and adapted to Lexus' requirements. The length of the new vehicle is 4.19 meters, the height 1.55 meters and the wheelbase 2.58 meters.
