The Kuga will go on sale as a plug-in hybrid, an Eco Blue hybrid (mild hybrid) or a hybrid (full hybrid). The new Kuga is Ford's first SUV model based on the C2 vehicle architecture designed for global use, on which the Ford Focus also rolls. It enables a weight saving of up to 90 kilograms.
Technically, the Kuga is intended to exemplify what Ford will be able to offer in the future when it comes to the electrification of its vehicles. The Kuga is the first model to offer three hybrid drive versions.
Driving mode switch on board for the first time
The transmission options are a six-speed manual and, for an additional charge, an eight-speed automatic. The quick-shifting torque converter transmission adapts to the driver's individual driving style.
On board for the first time is a drive mode switch that allows the driver to adjust the response of the accelerator pedal, power steering and traction control, and - in the models with automatic transmission - the shift strategy to suit their own preferences and the driving situation. The modes: "Normal," "Sport" and "Eco" as well as the "Slippery" mode for snow- and ice-covered roads and "Deep Snow/Sand.
Attractive design of the interior
The newly designed interiors with their own equipment features are also all about charisma: "ST-Line," "Titanium" and "Vignale. The ST line is influenced by the performance models and is therefore decidedly sporty, for example with sports seats, dual exhaust and maximum 20-inch wheels.
The Titanium is intended to emphasize technological expertise and comfort. The Vigniale stands for luxury and exclusivity, for example with leather upholstery.
Prices, equipment and the brand launch for Switzerland have not yet been determined.
