Yokohama in motorsport, as in the Rallye-SM: Peugeot 207 S2000 of Rappaz in the colors of Yokohama.

In 1983, Yokohama appeared for the first time as sole supplier in the Formula 3 European Championship. Since then and to this day, the F3 race cars at the Macau GP have been rolling on the Japanese tires. Individual teams such as Brun Motorsport from Switzerland relied on Yokohama in the legendary Group C. This was followed by various class victories at Le Mans and Daytona, winning the European Touring Car Championship and DTM with BMW Team Schnitzer, and other international successes.

In modern times, Yokohama has been known as a tire partner of the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) since 2006 and of the ETCC (European Cup) since as early as 2005. On the national stage, Yokohama Switzerland is present as a sponsoring partner of the OPC Challenge with the Opel Corsa and the Renault Classic Cup. In the rally championship, Team JoSpeed with Joël Rappaz on the Peugeot 207 S2000 has represented the Yokohama colors since 2015. In 2017, the rally team Blanchard/Helfer on Renault Clio S1600 joined the team.
