After the sunny Easter holidays, it's already time to plan the next weekend. Tip for petrol heads: The 20th Auto-Renntage Frauenfeld is this year's first public motor racing event in German-speaking Switzerland. They are held under special auspices.

The ACS Thurgau, as a proven organizer, is doing everything it can to offer visitors from all over Switzerland two eventful days. The second round of the Swiss Slalom Championship takes center stage on Sunday. On Saturday, the somewhat quieter vehicles are first in line. As at the premiere in Interlaken, the Suzuki Swiss Racing Cup will be battling for hundredths of a second in the afternoon.

Philip Egli aims for fifth victory of the day
The favorite to win the day is Philip Egli in the Dallara race car. The driver from Glarus has been unbeaten on the Grosse Allmend since 2015 and would like to stay that way. He would then be the sole record holder, after Jean-Jacques Dufaux also won here four times in a row from 2007 to 2010.

Philip Egli: "An anniversary race is particularly motivating. Frauenfeld has always been a good race for me. The aim is to win again. But I know that Marcel Maurer will leave no stone unturned to beat me. But thanks to the shorter gear ratio, I should be able to get something out of this course in particular."

After his one-day victory on April 6 in Interlaken, Egli leads the Slalom-SM together with eleven other class winners with a full 20 points. There will certainly be a few less after Frauenfeld.

Return of Danny Krieg in the Audi
We have already covered the other raisins in the field of participants in a big preview on April 13. Let's pick out one name again: Danny Krieg is returning to Frauenfeld exactly one year after his last slalom start with the Audi A4 STW. Christian Darani, who has been unbeaten in the E1-2000 with his Fiat X 1/9 since the Romont slalom on 17 June 2018 and is one of the big title favorites, will therefore have to dress warmly.

Danny Krieg at the Frauenfeld Slalom 2018: Thanks to all-wheel drive, you can also get around corners quickly with three wheels...

The man from Schwyz will only compete occasionally with the potent all-wheel-drive two-liter, which has just arrived in Frauenfeld from Zwahlen Racing in Pfyn.

Danny Krieg: "I'd like to race more, but I'm going to be a father for the fourth time in August and will then take a break. That's why I'm not aiming for the championship either on the mountain or in the slalom, but I would still like to win a few races - preferably in Frauenfeld."

Krieg's next starts will then be the first hill climb races in Hemberg (June 16) and Reitnau (June 30) and the Chamblon slalom (June 23) in between.
