Weekend tip: Prelude to several series đŸŽ„

THERE'S A LOT GOING ON At Oschersleben, the German GT Championship begins with a strong Swiss presence. The Clio Eurocup, the Nascar Euro Series and the F4 Italia will also be competing for points for the first time in 2021. You can see it all on TV and on the Internet. Those responsible for the ADAC GT Masters explain what spectators can expect on TV and in the livestream - and probably also live on site in the course of the year.

This weekend, the ADAC GT Masters will kick off the 2021 season at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The world's strongest national GT3 series will be given the title of an international GT championship from 2021. At the season opener, 27 sports cars with two drivers each will be on the grid.

How big is the handicap for "Nidi"?
It is quite possible that the champion will come from Switzerland, as in the case of Patric Niederhauser in 2019. The participation of Helvetic pilots remains strong, although the constellations have changed in some cases.

For example, although "Nidi" is new to the accomplished Audi team Phoenix Racing, his new 18-year-old partner and rookie Jusuf Owega is still a blank slate. Because each driver has to qualify in one of the two rounds and take the first half of the race, the results are always a team effort.

Four Swiss with strong partners
Ricardo Feller with former champion Christopher Mies in an Audi from Land Motorsport, Rolf Ineichen with Frenchman Franck Perera in one of four Lamborghini Huracåns from Grasser Racing, Jeffrey Schmidt with professional Marvin Kirchhöfer at Callaway Corvette and Porsche works driver Simona de Silvestro, who has now relocated to Herbert Racing with Klaus Bachler, can expect more chances of top places in her second GT season. Although Mercedes works driver Raffaele Marciello is from Ticino, he drives under the Italian flag.

The two races will be broadcast live on Saturday and Sunday from 4 p.m. on free TV by new TV partner NITRO. In the livestream they are free of charge at TVNOW, on adac.de/motorsport and in the YouTube channel to see.

The ADAC GT4 Germany and the ADAC TCR Germany also celebrate their season openers in the Magdeburger Börde, while the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland already completes its second race weekend.

The teaser makes the ELMS race in Spielberg tasty.

Louis Delétraz as leader of the standings in the ELMS
Also for the second time, points will be at stake in the European Le Mans Series on Sunday at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. After winning the season opener in Barcelona, Louis Delétraz from Geneva leads the championship with his two partners Robert Kubica and Yifei Ye in an Oreca LMP2.

The four-hour race will start at 11 a.m. on Sunday and will be held on YouTube broadcast in livestream - have a look here, too!

Andy Stucki back in the new Renault Clio Eurocup
Only the new GT2 European Series and the Renault Clio Cup Europe will each hold two races at the Hockenheimring on Saturday. While Christoph Lenz and Christoph Ulrich with the KTM X-Bow GT2 already lead their classification after the class victory in Monza, Hockenheim means a comeback for Andy Stucki after almost two years.

Andreas Stucki will represent Switzerland in the European Cup with the new Clio V starting this weekend in Hockenheim.

The garage owner from Schmerikon has signed up for the 2021 Group C European Cup, which will be held with the new Renault Clio V R.S. Line Cup. The C stands for the previous Clio Cup Central Europe, which will hold the first race of the season at the Motodrom in Baden, while the Italians and French are already in the line-up for the fourth time.

Andy Stucki: "Because my new Clio arrived late, I'm starting with zero test kilometers. But I'm highly motivated and will try to give the international Clio cracks a run for their money, which will certainly not be an easy task given their experience and the races they've already contested."

Both races with start at 11.55 a.m. (here) and 3:30 p.m. (here) can be seen on Facebook in the livestream.

Nascar Europe start in Spain
Giorgio Maggi will tackle his third racing season in the Nascar Whelen Euro Series - the second in the top Pro class - this weekend in Valencia. As before, the man from Nidwald will be driving a Ford Mustang for the Dutch team Hendriks Motorsport. As Class 2 runner-up in 2019, Maggi is aiming for more than just a Pro podium this year, as he did last year.

Euro Nascar also starts its 2021 racing season in Valencia still in front of empty grandstands.

Both qualifying sessions and races - one each on Saturday and Sunday - are scheduled on the YouTube channel to follow in the livestream.

Giant field in Italian Formula 4
With 37 drivers from all over the world, the 2021 Italian Formula 4 Championship is the toughest junior series of all. This will also be felt by Jenzer Motorsport with its five juniors.

Some, like Swiss rookie Samir Ben, have already contested their first race of the season in the WEC at Spa. The other Jenzer drivers are Piotr Wisnicki from Poland, Jorge Garciarce Davila and Santiago Ramos Reynoso from Mexico, and Francesco Braschi from Italy.

All three races are available on the series' YouTube channel at this Link live to see.

The Italian F4 boasts a large field and a strong presence on social media.

Second EBM deployment of Ronnie Bratschi
Finally, fans of hillclimb racing will also get their money's worth this weekend. The second round of the European Hillclimb Championship in Asturias (Spain), the Subida al Fito, will also be held in the Livestream broadcast. A livetiming is available at this Link.

Simone Faggioli and Christian Merli continue their duel for the day's win that began in Portugal and which Faggioli had won by fractions of a second.

Ronnie Bratschi is aiming for his second category win in the touring cars with his new Mitsubishi Evo VII RS. The man from Uri can hope for full points this time, something he was denied in Boticas due to the lack of a third or fourth opponent in the top PF1 class.

Ronnie Bratschi hopes to score full points at the second European Championship mountain race in Spain.
