THANKS TO PROTECTION CONCEPT This also pleases many Swiss drivers: The Nürburgring Endurance Series will take place in 2021 as planned. In exactly one month, the VLN can start again, if the weather plays along. For the time being, spectators will have to make do with live streams on the Internet (Photos: Gruppe C Photography).

This good news means planning security for the VLN teams and a large number of companies around the Nürburgring that live directly or indirectly from motorsport, emphasizes VLN Managing Director Christian Stephani.

Access only after Corona test
The basis for the organization of the events is the hygiene concept of the organizer association VLN, which has been adapted again compared to last year, as well as compliance with the Corona Occupational Health and Safety Ordinance.

To further minimize the risk of infection, access to the paddock will in future be restricted to people who can prove that they have had a negative corona test. In the entire paddock - in the open air and in all rooms - the wearing of medical masks (FFP2 or surgical masks) is mandatory.

Furthermore, contacts are minimized as far as possible and processes are adapted accordingly. Changes to the concept are possible at any time depending on the situation. For the time being, the corona pit lane will no longer be used this year.

Launch in a few weeks
The unofficial starting signal for the 2021 NLS season will be given on March 20 at the traditional pre-season test. One week later, on March 27, the starting lights will switch to green for the first time at the 66th ADAC Westfalenfahrt.

According to the current regulations for sporting events, spectators are not permitted in 2021 for the time being. However, the VLN is working on solutions together with the Nürburgring, says Stephani.
