More than 160 guests from national and international racing followed the invitation of publisher Edi Engelberger to the vernissage of the yearbook RENNSPORT SCHWEIZ 2017 at the Eventcenter Seelisberg on Wednesday. Already for the 24th time it is published by Aktiv-Verlag from Stans - and there is no end in sight...

The founder and first long-time author is the former racing driver and journalist Stefan Lüscher. For health reasons, Lüscher took a back seat in the last few years. However, together with his wife Philomène, he still actively takes care of the acquisition and maintenance of advertisers, without whose support this unique yearbook could not be realized. Special thanks go to them.

In 2016, Lüscher's decade-long collaborator Peter Wyss took over the reins. The expert in Swiss automotive sports, who has also been in charge of motorsport at AutoSprintCH since February 2016, wrote all the chapters on the Swiss championships and one-make cups as well as those of the international racing series.

Formula 1 expert Vanessa Georgoulas contributes her analysis of the past GP season, Werner J. Haller reports on the motorcycle world championship with Tom Lüthi and Dominique Aegerter in the spotlight, Markus Lehner sheds light on the karting scene and various motorcycle championships, intimate Jürg Kaufmann reviews the year of Swiss rally drivers at home and abroad, and Daniel Reinhard of Zwischengas.com refers in his chapter to the most important successes and events in the historical scene.

In addition to the national championships, the year's main topics are the World Endurance Championship (WEC) with the victories of runner-up Sébastien Buemi and the fateful 24 Hours of Le Mans for defending champion Neel Jani, Buemi's narrowly lost title fight in Formula E, Nico Müller and Edoardo Mortara's difficult DTM season, Marcel Fässler's move to GT racing, Sauber's first Formula 1 season after the change of ownership, and the Moto2 World Championship with Lüthi and Aegerter.

The yearbook RENNSPORT SCHWEIZ 2017 comprises 392 pages thread bound in the format 21 x 26 cm with about 800 (!) photos and hard cover. The price is 65 francs plus 9 francs for postage and packaging.
