The teaser should whet your appetite for the upcoming event at the end of May.

The Rallye du Chablais was scheduled to take place on May 29 and 30, the two days before Whit Sunday. The internationally staged race would have counted towards the Swiss Rally Championship, the FIA Alpine Rally Trophy and the Tour European Rally (TER) for modern as well as historic vehicles. Vehicles with alternative drive systems would also have been at the start in a separate competition.

17th staging not until May 2021
The preparations were already well advanced. Due to the currently difficult health situation of the entire nation and the restrictions to contain the corona virus, which will certainly last until May, the organizers around rally director Eric Jordan see themselves forced to cancel the event, which is popular with drivers and spectators and in which record world champion Sébastien Loeb also participated several times. The 17th edition is now scheduled for May 27-29, 2021.

Season opener in June or September?
Following the cancellation of the Critérium Jurassien and the "Chablais" scheduled for April 18/19, the 2020 SSR will thus consist of only three rounds. Whether the season will now start on June 26/27 in Ticino is also very doubtful. The organizer tends to postpone the date to mid-September.

The season opener would therefore be the Rally Mont Blanc-Morzine in bordering France from September 3 to 5. The third and final round is the Rallye International du Valais from October 15 to 17. By then, the entire Swiss population hopes, life should be able to return to some degree of normality.
