Motorsport: Two Swiss in the Renault Sport Academy
French group Renault is returning to Formula 1 as an official factory team in 2016. At the launch of the Renault Sport F1 Team at the Technocentre in Guyancourt, on the outskirts of Paris, Louis Delétraz and Kevin Jörg made their first major appearance in the context of Formula 1. All young racing drivers dream of Formula 1 at the start of their careers, but for most it remains wishful thinking. For the two chosen Swiss drivers and their two British colleagues, the big dream has become a bit more realistic. Whichever of them attracts the most attention in the future will have further opportunities for promotion - in the best case, all the way to the GP factory team.
In addition to the dowry for their upcoming races in Formula 3.5 V8 (Delétraz in Team Fortec) and in the GP3 series (Jörg in the successful French team DAMS), they will be trained in areas that are almost as important for a perfect race driver as pure speed. Fitness and media training, factory visits and certainly the odd pit stop on a GP weekend. All of this gives them an intimate look behind the scenes of the magical Formula 1 on whose stage they would like to present themselves one day.

Now the two have to prove their talent
Both are excited about the chance to showcase their talent and potential under the watchful eyes of decision-makers from Formula 1. Kevin Jörg made a promising start last November in Abu Dhabi following the 2015 World Championship finale, where Renault people approached him with the prospect of promoting young talent. Meanwhile, Renault talent scouts approached Delétraz, who was also convincing, and signed him as the fourth junior after Aitken, Jörg and Rowland following BMW's spontaneous okay.
The Geneva native is now in the fortunate position of being promoted in Formula racing by Renault and at the same time in touring car and GT racing by BMW. For him, the DTM or LMP1 with the 24 Hours of Le Mans, to which BMW will in all likelihood return, are a great alternative if things don't work out with the further climb towards Formula 1.
After an intensive fitness program and a lot of theory, racing activities begin for Kevin Jörg on March 2-3 at the shakedown in Magny-Cours with the new-generation GP3 race cars. The fact that his new team DAMS has been closely associated with Renault for years is certainly no disadvantage.
