Thierry Neuville fought for victory in Monte-Carlo right up to the Power Stage. Andreas Mikkelsen and Sébastien Loeb, making his debut in the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC, also showed a pace worthy of a podium. The team's strength put the Hyundai team in the lead of the manufacturers' standings in the World Rally Championship.

Hyundai is now doing everything it can to consolidate its lead at the Rally Sweden, which starts on Thursday. That's why the runner-up in the Monte and last year's winner in Sweden has a clear message.

Thierry Neuville: "Monte-Carlo showed our potential. We can hardly wait to get back in the car. Our car always ran well in Sweden, let us set fast times on the frozen roads and push the snowdrifts to the limit."

Perfect conditions
Sébastien Loeb enjoyed a promising start to his new career by scoring several stage victories.

Sébastien Loeb: "It's a completely different challenge. If everything is icy, conditions are good and the sun is shining, it can be the most exciting rally of the season. So of course we hope for good conditions."

With temperatures below freezing and fresh snow, all three Hyundai crews tested in Sweden in preparation for the upcoming rally. The perfect conditions provided valuable experience as they prepared for the challenges of this extremely fast rally, including the famous jump over Colin's Crest.

Colin's Crest in Sweden: Nowhere in the world do you ski faster and jump higher on snow.

The action begins on Thursday, February 14, with the Shakedown in Skalla, followed by a Super Special Stage at the Karlstad harness racing track. The finish after 19 special stages is at midday on Sunday, February 17.
