Several Formula E drivers explain the course of the circuit in Brooklyn.

In mathematical terms, eight drivers still have a chance of winning the title - more than ever before in the history of the electric racing series. In practice, Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Techeetah) has a 32-point lead over defending champion Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler). In New York, two races will be held for the only time this season. A total of 58 points are up for grabs in the so-called "double header" including the additional points for pole position and fastest race lap.

In the team standings, the difference between DS Techeetah and Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler is slightly smaller at 43 points. However, the Germans would have to land a one-two and the European-Chinese squad would have to perform extremely poorly for anything to change in this order.

Buemi wants to give Nissan its first victory
Sébastien Buemi is one of the seven drivers behind Vergne who still have at least theoretical chances of winning the title. However, the man from Vaud is realistic enough to pursue other goals.

For him, it's all about winning at least one of the two US races. Otherwise, 2018/19 would be the second consecutive season for him without a direct hit. The total of five pole positions and four podium finishes by Buemi and Oliver Rowland proved that Nissan has the speed to succeed.

Sébastien Buemi: "We've made huge progress over the course of the season and have been in every Super Pole qualifying session. New York is a good place to overtake, so we're doing everything we can to end the season with the first win for Nissan."

Sébastien Buemi recently finished third at his home race in Bern. A win in the USA would be the crowning achievement of a mixed season.

Live broadcast in the late evening
For the third time, the two final races will be held on the 2.320-kilometer course in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, with a view of Manhattan. It runs directly along the shore of Upper New York Bay, which separates Manhattan and Brooklyn. The track is largely identical to last year's, with only the pit lane now positioned along the start-finish straight.

The races start in New York on Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m. local time (10 p.m. CEST) and run as usual over 45 minutes plus one lap. The Swiss TV sports channel MySports One will broadcast both qualifying sessions live from 5.40 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day. The race broadcasts will start at 9.45 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday evening.
