Young and busy. Ricardo Feller is looking forward to the additional task with the Zurich Ferrari team.

There are problems that can make you happy. Ricardo Feller has such a luxury problem. The Aargau native, who turned 20 on June 1, will be the only Swiss to drive a Lamborghini for Emil Frey Racing in the 2020 GT3 endurance racing season, which starts soon.

Re-start with test drives
This Thursday, the Safenwil-based company will resume testing at Imola. Feller will also be involved, as he was last in March before the lockdown.

An Audi R8 LMS from Mücke Motorsport is waiting for him in the ADAC GT Masters. His partner there is Stefan Mücke, the professional driving son of the team boss.

Octane126 wanted young swiss
After these contracts were signed, Octane126 also approached Ricardo Feller. The successful team from Wallisellen was looking for a young Swiss player worthy of promotion and came across him.

Since this week it is clear: The Aarau native will also compete for the Zurich-based company in the Ferrari Challenge Europe. On Tuesday, he was at the official Ferrari and Maserati service center in Wallisellen for a seat and overall check.

Three race series in four months
However, because all the racing series will be running their season programs in four months from July, the busy young professional had scheduling problems. The seven rounds of the ADAC GT Masters and the four endurance races of the GT World Challenge Europe do not overlap thanks to the coordination of the series operators. In the Ferrari Challenge, however, only four of the seven race weekends are possible for Feller.

After the ADAC postponed its final round in Oschersleben to the beginning of November in order not to collide with the 24 Hours of Spa on October 24/25, which is more important for all GT3 teams, the third Octane126 driver is not available for the Ferrari World Final in Abu Dhabi.

The seat rehearsal in Wallisellen is done. Now the race dates still have to be coordinated.

At least two races
Just in case, however, Feller is to take part in at least two of the four possible Ferrari events in order to be eligible for the world finale. One possibility is the season opener on the first weekend in July at Imola, where all teams can try out the Ferrari 488 Challenge equipped with the new Evo kits for the first time on Friday and Saturday morning.

So Feller would start right away on a par with the competition. Fabienne Wohlwend and a German customer, on the other hand, will complete the entire championship with Octane126.

Non-stop in use
The newcomer to the Zurich team is looking forward to the full season program.

Ricardo Feller: "I think it's great when it soon starts blow by blow and I practically have to travel from one route to the next. That's better than breaks in between."

He finds it exciting that this also involves constantly switching between three different cars and teams.

Ricardo Feller: "I have no concerns about that. The Audi and the Lamborghini are similar, after all, and the new Evo package will bring the Ferrari closer to a GT3 car as well. It'll be a cool challenge that I'm looking forward to."
