In his own video, Yves Meyer reviews his race weekend on the Franciacorta circuit near Modena in a funny way. Not much was missing and the Lucerne native would have crowned it with victory or second place.

Victory over the vice European champion
In the small final, the co-owner and head of Event Seelisberg lost out to the Italian Massimo Checchin, who later came second, only because of a small mistake. In the semi-final, Meyer defeated last year's runner-up and current championship leader of the Drift King International Series, Dutchman Rick Vangoethem.

The day's victory went to the Greek Christos Chantzaras.

First podium in Europe
Third place meant the first ever podium in Europe for the internationally strongest Swiss in FIA-regulated drifting.

Yves Meyer: "Last year we had some bad luck with the car, now it's going well. When you make it into the battles, anything is always possible. One small mistake and the supposedly weaker beats the stronger. The Nexen tires are just brilliant and really fast, it makes you want more!"

High school of parallel drift: Meyer against local hero Checchin.

Desire for more
With third place in Italy, the Lucerne native, who has only contested two of the three races so far, made a leap to ninth intermediate place. In 2018, Yves Meyer finished second in the FIA Intercontinental Driftig Cup in Tokyo, his first international podium finish.

Continue to France
The next event is already on the agenda for Motorsportteam Seelisberg next weekend, the Drift Kings of France in La Chapelle. The qualifications and battles can be followed in the livestream on the series' Facebook channel.
