Autorama Motorsport enters the title defense from the start with both VW Golf TCR.

A year ago, Autorama Motorsport by Wolf-Power Racing was still a newcomer at the 24 Hours of Dubai - twelve months later, the Swiss team is competing as defending champions in the European and intercontinental championships of the 24H Series.

Whole season with two cars
As at the last two 24-hour races in 2019 in Barcelona and Austin, the team will start with two VW Golf GTI TCR. The two touring cars have yet to be brought up to speed these days. After the final race in mid-November in the USA, they were shipped directly and could thus only be received again in Dubai. After the two practice days on Wednesday and Thursday, the first marathon of the year will start on Friday, January 10, at 3 p.m. local time.

In the pit garage at the Dubai Autodrome, the two VW Golfs are being prepared for action in the second half of the week.

Touring car debut of Miklas Born
In total, the team will travel with nine drivers. Regular driver Yannick Mettler, who won the drivers' title in the 24H Series of the Continents with the no longer present Jérôme Ogay, continues to compete with Autorama Motorsport. In the number #112 car, Alberto Vescovi (I), Roberto Ferri (I), Constantin Kletzer (A) and Miklas Born complete the driver ensemble. Vescovi, Ferri and Kletzer were already on board in the USA.

For Miklas Born from Reinach, who is just 17 years old, the 24 Hours of Dubai will be his first ever car race. Previously very fast in karting, the Basel-Landschaft business school student prepared for this debut with various trackdays. His development will be exciting to watch. This driver constellation is to be retained for almost the entire season.

Team leader Stefan Tanner and Yannick Mettler are pleased to have Miklas Born as a new young driver in their midst.

The Golf #114 is driven by the Danes Kim Holmgaard and Martin Vedel, the Italian Felice Jelmini and the Belgian semi-professional Mathieu Detry. All four drivers are newcomers, but have a lot of experience and several successes in various racing series.

Preferably all over again
Initiator and team leader Stefan Tanner, who also works at Autorama AG in Wetzikon, is aware that the almost perfect season in 2019 will be difficult to repeat. However, he says the team arrived with the clear goal of again making the first race as successful as possible.

Stefan Tanner: "In the best case, the success from last year will be repeated. It won't be easy. We were able to take an enormous amount of knowledge and insights with us into the new season. The team is well prepared - the new season can start!"

No team collected as many trophies as Autorama Motorsport. The 2019 season will be hard to top.
