Alfa Sauber C37: Continuation of a legend
FORMULA 1 At midday on Tuesday, Alfa Romeo and the Sauber F1 Team unveiled their first joint car. The Alfa Romeo Sauber C37 differs from all its predecessors in terms of its paintwork and its shape, which is dominated by the Halo cockpit protection. The C37 model from the Hinwil-based racing team, which will be known as the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team from 2018, marks the return [...]

The legendary Italian brand is returning to Formula 1 with the C37 model of the Hinwil-based racing team, which will be called the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team from 2018.
This technological (and financial) partnership is intended to demonstrate "the ongoing strength and success of Alfa Romeo's philosophy." It represents the "constant search for excellence" applied to racing, then "transferred in its entirety to the brand's production vehicles. The continuation of a legend."
Clear differences to the C36
The C37 shows clear differences to its predecessor - on the one hand because of the technical regulations and on the other hand because of the new technical approach on the part of the car designers.
Jörg Zander, Technical Director: "The C37 for the 2018 Formula 1 World Championship is the result of months of hard work by every single person here in Hinwil. From a technical perspective, the philosophy of the new car is different compared to the previous model. The aerodynamic concept has changed significantly, with the C37 featuring some new special features. We are confident that the new concept offers us more possibilities and thus helps us to achieve improvements during the season. Ferrari's 2018 engine will certainly also benefit us in terms of performance. We hope to make progress with the C37 and be more competitive compared to the 2017 season."
This is also the goal of the team manager.
Frédéric Vasseur: "Marcus Ericsson and Charles Leclerc form an ideal driver duo - an experienced driver and a promising rookie. Our goal for the 2018 season is clear: We have to reduce our gap and steadily improve our performance throughout the season. We've worked on the development of the C37 with a lot of dedication and great commitment."

Another milestone in Sauber history
Alfa Romeo's return to Formula 1 marks another milestone in the history of the Swiss team, which has been competing in Formula 1 since 1993 and in previous years helped Mercedes to victory at Le Mans and in the World Endurance Championship.
Frédéric Vasseur: "I am proud that such a historic brand has chosen our team for their return. We can't wait to tackle the 2018 Formula One season as the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team."
The official roll-out of the C37 will take place from February 26 to March 1 during the first winter test at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona.
