Dominique Aegerter and his Forward Racing team are on the rise in the Moto2 World Championship with their MV Agusta. After the best qualifying result so far, the 28-year-old from Rohrbach, Switzerland, finished a good ninth in an eventful race in Assen (NL).

Dominique Aegerter: "After the best qualifying so far, I naturally went into the race highly motivated. I had a great start and a lot of nice fights for positions in the first laps. To finish ninth is an incredible relief for all of us. I'm delighted. At this point I must also congratulate my teammate Stefano Manzi. He drove a super strong race today. To storm from last place on the grid to seventh deserves respect. Our first top-10 result must spur us on even more."

Following must not be better than leading
Before the championship enters its well-deserved summer break, the German Motorcycle Grand Prix at the legendary Sachsenring is another particularly important round of the season awaiting him. Domi knows what he wants to do better at the upcoming GP weekend and beyond.

Dominique Aegerter: "In today's race it was very clear that I ride better when I can follow someone. The opposite is the case. I make mistakes on my own and don't ride as smoothly. That means I have to improve my driving. Of course, we also have a lot of work to do with the bike. In Assen we benefited from a few retirements. But our gap to the winning time also underlines that we were on the limit and still brought the thing home while others crashed. Before we go to Sachsenring next weekend, a big thanks to the whole team, CRC and all the sponsors, for their confidence in us."

When Domi puts on the leather suit again this weekend in Saxony, he has his sights set on another improvement.
