Tinder, launched in 2012, is arguably the world's most popular dating app. In all 196 countries around the world, people swipe "right" on their smartphones to signal their interest in a date. Every day, 26 million dates occur on Tinder, and the app has recorded a total of more than 20 billion dates worldwide to date. A specially created profile page recently promised "the date you've been waiting for" - and more than 1.5 million swiped "right" on their smartphones to signal their interest.
As part of this campaign launched by Ford, selected couples met on the streets of London for a date that ended with a visit to a drive-in movie theater. At Ford Mustang the participants were able to get to know each other. On the way, the couples were asked about "belfies" and secret tattoos by TV comedy star Jarred Christmas over the car's audio system to break the ice.
