After the Geneva Motor Show, the largest classic car fair has now also been canceled. Now plans are already being made for 2021.

The event was to be held for the 45th time on March 21 and 22 at the Freiburg Congress Center. Nearly 350 exhibitors were registered. Around 20,000 spectators would have been expected over the two days.

No other choice
The rapid global spread of the coronavirus and the recommendations, directives and prohibitions issued by the federal and cantonal authorities in connection with the origin of the European participants in the OTM have forced the Forum Fribourg to this hard and sad decision, it says in the press release. Also fundamental for this decision was the general fear of the population, which could mean a financial risk for the exhibitors.

Joseph Vonlanthen, Director Forum Fribourg: "Staff and partners have been working on this project for many months. It is extremely frustrating, but given all the reasons mentioned above and out of respect for our suppliers, sponsors and exhibitors, who also have to prepare and organize now, we could not under any circumstances wait until March 15 to make a decision."

Outlook for 2021 with special show on Jo Siffert
The special exhibition on Swiss Army vehicles, motorcycles and equipment planned for the occasion will be postponed until the next edition of the OTM on March 27 and 28, 2021. For this purpose, the 50th anniversary of the death of the Fribourg racing driver Jo Siffert, who died in an accident at Brands Hatch (GB) in October 1971, will be commemorated.

The flyer for the OTM 2020 is now also only a collector's item.
