World first: A bike rack with parking aid

The world novelty developed by the German manufacturer Uebler combines the multiple award-winning bike carrier X21-S with the useful function of the parking aid in the new X21-S DC (Distance Control). The installation is simple and does not cause any additional installation costs. The parking aid is completely integrated into the functionality of the carrier. Once the carrier is mounted and the receiver display is plugged into the cigarette lighter or a vehicle socket, the parking aid is automatically activated when reverse gear is engaged. The receiver display warns of obstacles visually and acoustically. The four selectable background colors allow the display to be harmoniously adapted to the vehicle's interior lighting.

State-of-the-art technology for maximum comfort
With just two sensors of the latest generation, the system achieves an extensive detector range that reliably and safely covers even wider vehicles. Transmission to the vehicle interior is secure and fast via radio. This is important because Bluetooth-based transmission could be affected by multiple cell phones of the vehicle occupants or even external devices in the vicinity. The in-vehicle display provides clear visual and audible signals. Volume, intensity and display color can be individually adjusted. The display also visualizes the distance to the obstacle. The parking aid is completely pre-installed and configured.

The new X21-S DC can transport two bikes or e-bikes with a payload of up to 60 kg. The carrier itself is lightweight at 13.5 kg and can be folded completely. It can be folded down on the vehicle for convenient tailgate operation. The X21-S DC is made in Germany and comes with a 3-year warranty. It is imported by Chemuwa Autozubehör AG, based in Laupen ZH, a subsidiary of Fibag AG, which is part of the Emil Frey Group. The X21-S DC bike rack will be available from specialist dealers from around the end of June for CHF 1079 (recommended retail price).
