The jury judged the Amarok to epitomize the theme of "work hard, play hard," a core element of the entire pickup segment, and paraphrased the Amarok as a "workhorse of the first order." The verdict particularly emphasizes the clear design, fit and finish - in short, the workmanship.

The jury members were also taken with the on- and off-road capabilities of the V6 Amarok. Its wide selection of 3.0l TDI engines, ranging from 120 kW to 190 kW, meets the power and torque requirements of all customer groups. The second-generation Amarok with V6 power unit has been a success with customers: from January to October 2017, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles already delivered 65,200 vehicles from the Amarok range to customers. The Volkswagen Amarok is the only pickup to receive the award for the second time.
