Environmental List
The VW Polo TGI, which will soon prove its strengths and perhaps show weaknesses in an endurance test by AutoSprintCH, was given an excellent rating.

In the current issue, electric and gas models come out on top in the environmental ranking. Cars that are quiet and emit hardly any pollutants and few greenhouse gases shine in the evaluation of the Auto-Umweltliste. The efficient VW e-up!, Citroën C-Zero, Mitsubishi i-MiEV and Peugeot iOn models take the medal places among the electric cars.

Environmental List
The table shows you at a glance which models performed well in which category. The data provide important arguments when buying.

Good ratings for natural gas as a fuel
Among the combustion vehicles, the gas cars VW Polo TGI, Seat Ibiza TGI and the three sister models VW eco up!, Skoda Citigo and Seat Mii, which come from the VW Group, take the top places. Although the winning gas cars do not run on pure biogas but on the gas mix of 80 percent natural gas and 20 percent biogas offered at Swiss filling stations, they still perform considerably better than models with conventional diesel or gasoline engines.

Only a few manufacturers offer clean diesel
Only two gasoline hybrids and one gasoline model make it into the top ten. Last year's winner, the Toyota Prius with hybrid drive, slipped to fourth place.
Under real-life conditions on the road, diesel cars emit many times the nitrogen oxides permitted in the test. As a result, diesels are still only sporadically represented among the most environmentally friendly models. Diesel cars that meet the new, much stricter Euro 6d- TEMP test conditions in real-world operation are only a few in existence from Citroën (DS), Mercedes, Peugeot and Volvo. However, the selection will become larger in the coming months.
