AutoEnergieCheck: In combination with other workshop work, many garages offer the AEC below cost price. The AutoEnergieCheck is supported by EnergieSchweiz, the energy-saving program of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE).

Environmentally conscious motorists took advantage of the budget- and energy-saving AutoEnergieCheck (AEC) service offered by Swiss garage owners under the umbrella of the Swiss Automobile Trade Association (AGVS) between January and October 2016, saving fuel and money and protecting the environment. The almost 10,000 AECs represent a doubling compared to 2015! In October alone, the AGVS garagists carried out 1822 AutoEnergieChecks, a record number since the AEC was introduced in 2012. So far, around 30,000 tons of CO2 have been saved.

As a rule, the half-hour AutoEnergieCheck costs 49 francs and offers the potential to save 240 liters of petrol and 560 kilograms of CO2 per year. For an average vehicle, this results in an annual budget saving of up to 360 francs.
