About these vices nature rejoices

The results of the van environmental list should be read carefully by business owners. If you really want to save and help the environment, you should consider purchasing a vehicle powered by natural gas.

Fiat Panda van environmental list AutoSprintCH
The Fiat Panda is one of the most popular models with natural gas drive in Switzerland. It is available as a sedan or in the panel van version.

Gas models achieve the highest rating in the environmental list. There are still no really clean diesels in the van sector, and gasoline direct-injection vehicles with particulate filters are still a long way off. Sales of light commercial vehicles increased slightly.

Rating stars
Gas models also perform best this year, achieving the highest rating of five stars. Project manager Martin Winder: "Electric delivery vehicles are rated in a separate list for methodological reasons. Provided electric vehicles are powered by green electricity, they are significantly more environmentally friendly than gasoline and diesel vehicles. However, the range of electric delivery vehicles on offer is still modest."

Categories evaluated
Among the highest-rated vans are predominantly high-roof gas-powered station wagons such as the Fiat Panda Van 0.9 TwinAir and Fiorino 1.4i, the VW Caddy 1.4 BMT and the Opel Combo 1.4. The gas-powered Piaggio Porter 1.3 also receives five stars in the panel van, flatbed truck and pickup categories.

The van environmental list is the only environmental rating of its kind in Switzerland and takes into account the impact on climate, health and the environment. The emission of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) is the most important assessment criterion.
