Porsche: More range for the Cayenne
MORE SAFT, MORE POWER Porsche is increasing the electric range for all Cayenne E-Hybrids. According to WLTP, the Cayenne E-Hybrid has a range of up to 48 kilometers, while the Turbo S E-Hybrid has a range of up to 42 kilometers.
The driving modes of the standard Sport Chrono Package have been optimized for greater efficiency and performance.
Reduction of the target battery charge level
The E-Charge mode, in which the battery is charged by the combustion engine while driving by means of load point shifting, now follows an adapted charging strategy: The target charge level of the battery has been reduced from 100 to 80 percent.
The background to this is that the battery - similar to the battery of a smartphone - charges much more slowly and thus inefficiently from a charge level of around 80 percent.
Minimum level for Sport and Sport Plus
It also ensures that full recuperation power is available at all times. This makes the e-charge mode more efficient than before.
In the performance-oriented Sport and Sport Plus modes, the battery is always charged to a minimum level to provide sufficient boost for a sporty driving style.
This is now done with a higher, reproducible charging power - for example, on the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid in Sport Plus with an average of twelve kW.
Extended standard equipment ex works
Prices for the Cayenne E-Hybrid start at 114,500 Swiss francs and for the Coupé version with extended standard equipment at 119,500 Swiss francs. The Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid is available from 215,600 Swiss francs and the Coupé starts at 219,900 Swiss francs.
