Porsche: paint colors with history

TRADITION FROM THE MANUFAKTUR With the new "Color of Choice" and "Color of Choice Plus" options, Porsche's Exclusive Manufaktur finishing department is expanding its range of special exterior colors for all model series.

Paint colors
The Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur brings even more color to the model ranges.

Porsche is bringing more color under the winter blanket of high fog. As part of the new color selection options, the focus is on the availability of historic Porsche colors. For special color requests, individual shades can also be created according to customer wishes.

Alexander Fabig, Head of Individualization and Classic: "Exceptional paint finishes are familiar from the history of our brand and are an important differentiating feature."

High demand for special inks
As part of the new offering, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur has increased capacity in this area. A new paint mixing bench was put into operation at the main plant in Zuffenhausen.

Each batch is divided into two paint pots for bodywork and add-on parts. The parts to be painted on the vehicle are mostly made of aluminum, plastics and carbon and glass fiber composites. This mix of materials requires slightly different paint compositions depending on the component.

More than 100 additional coatings
The "color of choice" category includes predefined colors approved by the Porsche paint experts. These include maritime blue, star ruby, and mint green, for example - cult colors for Porsche fans. The range is very diverse and depends on the model series and production location.

More than 100 additional paint colors are available for the 911 and 718 series. For the Panamera, Macan, and Cayenne, there are a good 50 options, and 65 colors complete the spectrum for the Taycan. The "color of choice" can be ordered as part of the new car configuration at the Porsche Center.

Option for the 911, 718 and Taycan series
For particularly individual color preferences, the manufactory goes one step further: With "Color of Choice Plus," the paint finish can be chosen almost completely freely. This option is available for the 911, 718 and Taycan model series. To do this, the customer hands over a sample of his or her desired color to the Porsche Center.

At Porsche AG, a separate feasibility check then takes place for each request, which can take several months.
