CO2
François Launaz: "Growth in alternative drive systems can only be achieved by joining forces."

The support of a referendum on the new CO2 Act from 2021 by auto-schweiz is no longer ruled out if it sets almost unattainable targets. At the same time, the association has reaffirmed its support for the "Electromobility Roadmap" and its own "10/20" target to increase the market share of electrically powered passenger cars.

Support for a referendum
François Launaz: "Motorized individual mobility in Switzerland is currently caught in a political field of tension between economic indispensability and ecological scapegoat. This has become clear at the latest since the discussions about the total revision of the CO2 Act, which is currently being debated in parliament. I can't shake off the feeling that politics is going crazy a good five months before the federal elections."

Further reduction in CO2 emissions
At the same time, the President of auto-schweiz reaffirmed the commitment of car importers to a further reduction in CO2 emissions and the "10/20" target set at the beginning of 2018. François Launaz: "But to achieve this, we need the support of many players, whether from business, politics or administration."
