IAA 2021: What awaits visitors to the show

NOW IT'S ALL CLEAR The move of the International Motor Show IAA from Frankfurt am Main to Munich is being used by the German Association of the Automotive Industry for a complete reboot. IAA
New automobiles and intelligent mobility solutions will be presented at the IAA in Munich.

The trade show is scheduled to take place next year from September 7 to 12. The contract with Messe München covers the IAA for 2021, 2023 and an option for 2025.

Fair experience throughout the city

Hildegard Müller, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA): "We will be able to experience the IAA in the exhibition halls, in the city center squares and on important traffic axes. The event should become tangible for visitors with all their senses and be experienced in the truest sense of the word."

Meeting place for international innovators
In terms of content, the IAA 2021 will be strongly dedicated to the topics of climate protection and sustainability, offering a comprehensive mobility mix including passenger cars, e-bikes, e-scooters and the integration of public transport.

The event is set to become a meeting place for innovators from Silicon Valley to Europe and Asia.

Past successes are the goal
With the new start, the organizers hope to build on the success of the past. The international motor show, which has been held in Frankfurt am Main since 1951, last took place in 2019 and suffered badly from a decline in visitors and protests.

Enough space for brand appearances

Klaus Dittrich, Chairman and CEO of Messe München: "With its international reputation and unique ambience, Munich offers an ideal setting for dialog with the general public and enough space for brand showcases, valuable business contacts and experiencing all forms of future mobility."

All of this is certainly a downer for the organizers of the Geneva International Motor Show GIMS, who, as things stand, probably won't be presenting international automotive innovations again until 2022.
