The new boss at autobau: Fredy A. Lienhard will head the world of experience at Lake Constance from January 2018.

After six years as managing director, Raffael Soppelsa is leaving autobau in Romanshorn. From 2018, he will work as an independent photographer. His successor bears a familiar name. From next January, Fredy A. Lienhard will be responsible for the autobau Erlebniswelt on the site of the former tank farm.

The son of the founder, company owner and racing patron Fredy Lienhard, who bears the same name, had already been a member of autobau's board of directors since the company was founded in 2009. Together with his cousin Ralph Beck, Lienhard jr. previously ran the company Rent4Ring at the Nürburgring. Now he is returning to his geographical roots.

Like his father, Fredy Alexander was active as a racing driver for many years, most recently in the VLN at the Nürburgring. In 2003, he was Neel Jani's teammate at Jenzer Motorsport in the Formula Renault V6. The year before, Lienhard Jr. celebrated his greatest triumph as a partner of his father and Belgian Didier Theys with victory in the 6 Hours of Mont-Tremblant in Canada in a Dallara-Judd LMP.

From December 14, the autobau will be closed to the public. The 2018 season will start on Sunday, January 7, with the traditional New Year's aperitif. After that, the world of experience will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The autobau Factory is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
