The Board of Directors and the Executive Board of Olma Messen St.Gallen made this decision because the attractive mobility event had not become economically viable despite growing popularity among the public and great efforts by all involved. The trade fair primarily served the regional automotive industry as a sales and information platform.
Too little support from importers and manufacturers
According to the media release, the automesse st.gallen was unfortunately only partially supported by the vehicle importers and manufacturers. As a result, the income generated remained too low to support and implement the trade fair in the long term in an appealing quality, it says.
Despite the success with the public, there are no signs of an improvement in the general conditions on the exhibitor side for the next few years. Under these circumstances, Olma Messen St.Gallen no longer wants to bear the corresponding deficit. They will invest the financial means in promising projects.
