Auction: Xara Elias auctions noble cars
WHO WAGES, WINS The neighbor's Lamborghini caught Xara Elias' attention as a young girl. But the supercar isn't solely responsible for the Oct. 1 car auction the 36-year-old plans to hold.
It's much more that Xara Elias has had an affinity for exclusive cars for as long as she can remember. In general, luxury attracts her, Xara is also interested in high-end watches and other expensive things.
Xara Elias: "In the region where I grew up, many residents had classic cars. I always liked the cars."
Every car has a personality
If you are conditioned like this from an early age, it would actually be logical to also strive for a profession that deals with luxury items. Far from it.
Xara first does her KV in Basel, studies business administration and then takes up a profession that is certainly not given to the petite single mother: She becomes a law enforcement officer, is thus a state employee and runs her own company Xara Elias Exclusive Cars.
Her free time belongs to fast cars.
Xara Elias: "I'm interested in the stories about the cars, every car has one, every car has a personality."
At the time of going to press, Xara had already booked over 40 lots for its special auction, including such special models as a Sauber C15 F1 (without engine, left gallery), an Orca C113 (only seven were built by Ralph Beck and his son, Orca Engineering is a car manufacturer in Vaduz, center gallery) or a beautiful Ferrari 250 GT 2+2.
How did she get the idea to hold such an auction?
Xara Elias: "Networking is my thing. I'm often invited to people's houses who drive expensive cars, I know what they're looking for, and I broker. Organizing an auction was just a logical step."
Delivery and preview
Some specimens like the Orca or the Triumph TR4 (gallery on the right) and others can already be examined. The cars are on permanent display at Hotel Meilenstein in Langenthal, where the auction will take place from 3 pm. There will be previews on September 29 and 30.
Anyone who still wants to consign their car can do so until September 1. Xara personally decides what goes into the auction.
Xara Elias: "The price doesn't really matter, but my goal is already to be able to offer cars in the higher segment."
