Amag: Four rings 55 years partner of Swiss-Ski 🎥

EXEMPLARY 30 years of the Ski World Cup Sölden and 55 years of Amag's partnership with Audi and Swiss-Ski. Two anniversaries that fit perfectly with the start of the new season on the Rettenbach glacier.

The beginning of this partnership dates back to the 1967/68 winter season. At that time, Amag and Swiss-Ski laid the foundation for a sponsorship commitment (gallery on the right) that was to become one of the longest in the world. Adolf Ogi, as President of Swiss-Ski at the time, wanted to ensure the mobility of his athletes. They needed to be able to get to their training and competition venues safely and in a relaxed manner at all times, whatever the winter conditions.

Optimal mobility partner

In addition to the Audi models, VW buses were and are also used. The picture on the left in the gallery shows the handover of the vehicles by the then Amag spokesman Reto Töndury to Adolf Ogi. With the launch of the quattro drive, the brand with the four rings became the optimal mobility partner for Swiss-Ski. The reason: The Audi all-wheel drive system guarantees safe propulsion even in the most wintry road conditions - an ideal prerequisite for snow sports enthusiasts.

Partnership extension

On the occasion of the anniversary, former Federal Councillor Adolf Ogi discussed the origins, present and future of this successful partnership with Helmut Ruhl, CEO Amag Group, Dieter Jermann, Brand Director Audi Switzerland and Urs Lehmann, President Swiss-Ski, at the Audi e-tron energy bar in Grindelwald.

Dieter Jermann: "We have decided to extend the partnership for another four years up to and including the 2026/2027 season. We are very much looking forward to another four sponsorship years with hopefully some gold medals. The future focus of Audi AG and us, Audi Switzerland, is on the Alpine Ski World Cup. This strategy fits perfectly with our brand philosophy Performance, Progressive, Premium."
