For the first time in the compact class worldwide, the "Discover Pro" system can be operated via gesture control. With its 9.2-inch screen, it forms a conceptual and visual unit with the Active Info Display, which is also new in the Golf. At the same time, the range of online services and apps has been expanded. The update also reflects a new status quo of assistance systems in the compact class: technologies such as City Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring, the new Traffic Jam Assist (semi-automated driving up to 60 km/h) and Emergency Assist, which is also new in this segment.

New 1.5 TSI Evo turbo petrol engine delivers 150 PS
The progressive digitalization is flanked by the further developed TSI engine family. The new 1.5 TSI Evo turbo petrol engine makes its debut in the Golf. The unit is a 150 PS four-cylinder turbo with variable cylinder deactivation. It will be followed by a BlueMotion version with 130 PS. Volkswagen has strengthened the Golf GTI. It is available with 230 or 245 PS (GTI Performance).
