Seat: This is the Leon model year 2020
SALES Following the VW Golf 8 and the fourth-generation Skoda Octavia, it's now the turn of the Seat Leon 4 to expand the compact car range from the Volkswagen Group. The new model is really something to behold. The front view of the current generation is based on the Tarraco, the brand's largest SUV. At the rear, it combines [...]

The front view of the current generation is based on the Tarraco, the brand's largest SUV. At the rear, a narrow LED strip connects the LED taillights. Once again, the Tarraco sends its regards.
The Cupra Formentor study was the inspiration for the rear fascia, which is shaped slightly inward. There are LED turn signals in the exterior mirrors, and dynamic flashing is optional at the front. Vehicles with full-LED headlights have a welcome light that projects the word "Hola!" onto the floor when opened.
Basis is the MQB-Evo platform
Leon number 4 is based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB Evo platform, just like the VW Golf 8, the Skoda Octavia and the soon-to-be-launched Audi A3. The interior features a slim dashboard with a 10.25-inch digital driver display.
The multimedia system in the center is between 8.25 and 10 inches, depending on the equipment. Physical buttons have largely disappeared in favor of gesture control. Ambient lighting is available on request.
The luggage compartment of the five-door model remains identical at 380 liters, while the station wagon swallows 30 liters more than its predecessor at 617 liters.
Drives from 90 to 204 hp
The new Seat Leon shares technology with Golf and Co. This also includes the engines.
The entry-level unit is the 1.0 TSI with 90 hp. It is also available with 110 hp, and the 1.5-liter with 130 and 150 hp is higher. The TSI engines with 110 and 150 hp are also available as 48-volt mild hybrids.
Natural gas drive also on offer
The 2.0 TSI with 190 hp and DSG is the petrol king for the time being. Friends of the compression-ignition engine can choose the 2.0 TDI with 115 or 150 hp. There, a Twindosing SCR system minimizes nitrogen oxide emissions.
A plug-in hybrid with 204 hp and a good 60 kilometer electric range is new. Those who prefer to drive in an environmentally friendly manner can opt for the 1.5-liter TGI engine with 130 hp and natural gas drive.
The new models can be seen at the Geneva Motor Show (March 5-15). Prices and equipment are not yet fixed.
