Porsche Cayenne: full of juice, even electrically

The new version of the Porsche Cayenne will be fully electric in spring 2026 - again with the combination of sports car performance, suitability for everyday use and off-road qualities.

Following its world premiere in December 2025, the first fully electrically powered Cayenne will roll onto our roads from the Porsche plant in Leipzig (Germany). Once again, of course, as a large SUV that combines extremely sporty driving dynamics with comfortable everyday characteristics and amazing off-road qualities. The coupé version and models with V6 and V8 hybrid drive will follow a little later.

Performance in abundance
The drive power is available in three stages. Even in normal mode, the drivetrain delivers more than 600 kW, a further 100 kW can be added for overtaking, and more than 800 kW is available for the 0 to 100 km/h sprint. This discipline is completed in less than three seconds in "Launch Control" mode and, where still permitted, maximum speeds of up to 250 km/h are possible. This is thanks to the 113 kWh battery and two permanently excited synchronous motors, which transmit their power to the front and rear wheels via a 2-speed gearbox.

The new battery pack can be charged with up to 400 kW.

The new battery pack enables a range of more than 600 kilometers. It can be charged with up to 400 kW at the fast-charging station. This increases the charge level from 10 to 80 percent in less than 16 minutes. Recuperation is also one of the strengths of the new E-Porsche. Up to 600 kW can be recovered via the brake pedal. This power corresponds to the value of the Porsche 99X Electric, which will be competing in Formula E. According to the manufacturer, around 97 percent of braking processes in everyday driving are carried out by the electric motors alone. This means that the conventional service brake is not kept very busy - and is still available in a carbon-ceramic version on request.

Another Porsche innovation is inductive charging. The wireless charging floor plate can be installed in a garage, carport or open-air parking space and connected to the power grid. The receiver unit in the vehicle is located between the front wheels. The floor plate has a motion detector and foreign object detection so that the charging process is interrupted immediately if faults are detected.

In the E-Cayenne, Porsche is introducing the Active Ride chassis in an SUV for the first time.

Active Ride chassis
In the E-Cayenne, Porsche is introducing the Active Ride suspension in an SUV for the first time. In conjunction with the adaptive air suspension and electronic damper control, the spread between comfort and dynamics has been significantly extended. To improve agility, an optional rear-axle steering system can be integrated, which reduces the turning circle by around one meter to 11.1 meters. As a towing vehicle with a rear-biased weight balance, the Cayenne Electric can handle up to 3.5 tons.

In the interior, the central flow display and the optional passenger display are integrated into the dashboard under a large glass surface. The curved main display then merges into the center console as a closed panel. And for the first time, a head-up display with augmented reality technology is also available in the Cayenne.
