It doesn't always have to be an SUV. The elegant Peugeot 508 SW offers an easily accessible luggage compartment with a volume of 530 to 1780 liters. The 1/3:2/3 split backrest of the rear seat bench can be folded down easily via the trunk thanks to the Magic Flat operating aid.
All important information at a glance
Like the exterior, the interior of the new 508 SW has a refreshingly independent design. The dashboard is pleasing with its high-quality plastic materials and finely coordinated color scheme. The i-cockpit with the small steering wheel is familiar from other Peugeot models. This means that the driver always has all important information directly in view. Of course, the new station wagon also comes with a wide range of driver assistance systems, with particular emphasis on the Night Vision system, which can detect people or animals at night from a great distance.
Gasoline and diesel, hybrid comes later
Two 1.6-liter gasoline engines deliver 180 and 225 hp and are always combined with 8-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-liter diesel with 130 hp is available with a choice of 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic, while the 2-liter diesel engines with 160 and 180 hp are always coupled with automatic transmission. The drive mode switch lets the driver choose between several comfort and sportiness levels.
Four trim levels are available, with the Blue HDi 130 being the most affordable model at 36,900 Swiss francs. A plug-in hybrid version will follow in the second half of 2019.
