Bovensiepen: A new start with good genes
For decades, the Bavarian town of Buchloe has repeatedly produced very special derivatives of BMW models. Following the takeover of the Alpina brand by BMW, the company owned by Bovensiepen now presents an exciting new model.

The launch of the Bovensiepen brand name marks a new era for the automotive company with the extensive development and manufacturing expertise of the former Alpina company. In future, Bovensiepen wants to realize automobile projects that meet the highest customer demands in terms of driving performance and comfort, just as the Alpina models once did. The Bovensiepen manufactory will remain based in Buchloe, west of Munich.
Congenial partner Zagato
The first product of the new manufactory is an extremely powerful Gran Turismo - based on the M4 convertible from BMW. The Bovensiepen Zagato is intended to combine the well-known engineering skills from Bavaria with Italian design. The body is made almost entirely of carbon fiber and is produced by the traditional Milanese company Carrozzeria Zagato. The double bubble in the roof and rear window is typical of this design house.
High-performance motor
The "Made in Buchloe" engineering includes not only the massively more powerful biturbo in-line six-cylinder engine, but also the sports suspension with special Bilstein dampers and forged 20-inch wheels. With a peak torque of 700 Nm and a maximum output of 449 kW/611 hp, the three-liter engine accelerates the 4.94-metre-long car from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. The top speed is said to be over the 300 km/h mark. As befits its status, a titanium exhaust system from Akrapovič ensures an impressive sound.
Launch mid-2026
The new Bovensiepen model will be manufactured at the existing plant in Buchloe. "Our aim is to build cars for connoisseurs and enthusiasts who appreciate the perfect symbiosis of design and technology," says Managing Director and former racing driver Andreas Bovensiepen. Delivery of the first customer vehicles is planned for mid-2026. Price information and further details are expected towards the end of the current year.
