The race at the Dutch racetrack in Assen had to be stopped due to the onset of rain. A restart with six laps remaining turned the Supersport World Championship race into an exciting sprint race. Krummenacher described the conditions as "chaotic. First it was dry and then there was a restart due to the onset of rain. In the wet, I was able to set a good pace straight away and I was actually ready to bring home the win," said the 26-year-old.
However, there was a tough duel with Puccetti team-mate Kenan Sofuoglu. He attacked Krummenacher so hard in the final chicane that they both ran out of space and the Kawasaki duo ultimately had to ride through the gravel. "That's racing, something like that can happen to anyone," said Krummenacher, putting the situation into perspective after the team-internal mishap. He ultimately finished the race in fourth place behind Kyle Smith, Gino Rea and Sofuoglu. "I only lost three championship points to Kenan. So I still have a good cushion in the overall standings," said the Puccetti rider.
Krummenacher is confident about the next round in Imola, Italy, and sent a challenge to his rivals: "I'm in good shape and I'm highly motivated. Nevertheless, I will continue to work hard to be in top form again in two weeks' time."
