Motorsport: Jndia Erbacher goes for 4000 hp

You could easily mistake Jndia Erbacher for a model with a stage name. But the 21-year-old blonde from Aesch BL has chosen a catwalk on which she presents herself in the midst of men with a 4000 hp dragster. Family affair: Urs Erbacher can be justifiably proud of his pretty and fast daughter Jndia.

At the beginning of April, the daughter of six-time FIA European champion Urs Erbacher competed in her very first race after receiving her license on the drag strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in a Top Alcohol dragster with around 4,000 hp. She qualified directly for the knockout round and only narrowly lost out to eventual category winner Chris Demke in the round of 16. With her time of 5.51 seconds over 1000 feet and a top speed of 427.43 km/h, she was just two tenths slower than the 2014 champion!

This result is all the more astonishing because Jndia Erbacher had previously only competed in a few test runs, which were required for the license. This alone made the assembled US professional teams sit up and take notice. The fact that she completed all four runs without any noteworthy problems and left neither engine nor body damage behind is, after all, not usual for beginners. Urs Erbacher: "She seems to be a natural. After all, she was already at the racetrack as a baby. I'm proud and thrilled." He himself is aiming for his seventh European Championship title in 2016, the fourth in the top class of 8,000-hp Top Fuel dragsters.

European premiere at the NitrOlympiX Hockenheim
Jndia Erbacher's next race appearance is scheduled for the NitrOlympiX at the Motodrom Hockenheim from August 19 to 21, 2016. There she will compete with the same vehicle as in Las Vegas. The constructor and supervisor is Anthony Dicero, who trained Jndia at his racing school in the USA. Together with her father, he will also look after her at Hockenheim. She would also like to thank all her sponsors and Club111 for making it possible for her to start in Las Vegas.
