After the two races in Hong Kong (December 2/3) and Marrakech (January 13), the fourth round of the 2017/18 FIA Formula E series will be held in Santiago de Chile on Saturday. This is the first time that the electric racing series has been held in this South American country.

From a Swiss perspective, the focus is on the two drivers Sébastien Buemi and Edoardo Mortara. For Buemi, the aim is to build on his second-place finish in Morocco two months after the failure in Hong Kong, where he led until shortly before the end. At this point last year, the Renault factory driver already had three wins to his name.

Edoardo Mortara from Geneva, who is driving under the Swiss flag for the first time, amazed as a rookie with a long lead and third place in Hong Kong.

Gianni Bianchi returns to Abt Audi as team manager
The defending champion is the Brazilian Lucas di Grassi from Team Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler. From the race in Chile, Gianni Bianchi from the Grisons will take over as team manager. Bianchi already held this position at Abt two years ago. He describes the reasons for this in an interview with MySports.

Starting this season, the Swiss broadcaster will broadcast Formula E in its basic program in its entirety, accompanied by rounds of talks in the studio and background reports. As in Hong Kong and Morocco, Bianchi, who formerly headed the successful Formula 3 team KMS, will continue to be available to MySports as an informant from the pit lane.

MySports was also able to win Simona de Silvestro as an expert. The Vaud native, who has been involved in the Australian Supercars Championship since 2017, drove for Andretti in Formula E in the 2015/16 season, so she knows her stuff.

The broadcast from Chile begins on Saturday, February 3, at 2.20 p.m. with the second free practice session. Qualifying follows at 3.50 p.m. A talk show from 7.45 p.m. sets the mood for the race (from 7.55 p.m.).
