For the first time in the history of the team from Safenwil, no expense or effort has been spared in preparing for the next two and most important races on the calendar with a 15-hour endurance test run in Portugal. On Saturday, the third championship round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup will take place at the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, followed by the 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium at the end of July.
This season, the Swiss team is starting with two cars for the first time. The test in Portugal was completed with a GT3 Jaguar and all six drivers (Lorenz Frey, Albert Costa, Stéphane Ortelli, Jonathan Hirschi, Christian Klien and Marco Seefried). The endurance run served in particular to prepare for the Belgian marathon.

"It was very interesting for all of us to do such a test for the first time ever and it showed that the effort was worth it," says Lorenz Frey, team manager and driver on the #14 Jaguar. "We were able to drive through 14 hours without any major problems, tested some new things, such as new LED lights, and are very happy with the results."
"Of course, as a private team we can't completely simulate a 24-hour race for cost reasons," Frey regrets. "But even just a 14-hour test like this helps us a lot. We're improving with every race weekend this year and hope that, after the top-12 result for both cars at Silverstone, we can also finish in the points in the south of France."

Qualifying starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 24. The start of the race over 1000 kilometers or six hours at the Circuit Paul Ricard is at 6 p.m. - presumably in sweltering heat. The finish is at midnight.
With Nico Müller and Marcel Fässler on two different Audi R8 LMS cars, two Swiss pros with chances of overall victory are on the grid. In the pre-tests at the same venue in March, Alex Fontana from Ticino in a Mercedes was the fastest.
The race can be followed on the live TV stream on the Blancpain GT Series homepage. Emil Frey Racing also provides ongoing coverage of this event on its Facebook page.
