In the third week of March, the DTM was supposed to prepare for the season in Monza. This will now be done at Hockenheim.

The DTM umbrella organization ITR has changed the venue of the official DTM test drives in March. The test was originally scheduled for March 16 to 18 at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza north of Milan. It will now take place at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg from March 16 to 19.

Monza races to take place
The decisive factor for this decision is safety concerns due to the ongoing spread of the Corona virus in northern Italy. The ITR is sticking to the planned staging of the DTM race weekend in Monza from June 26 to 28.

ITR Managing Director Marcel Mohaupt: "It is becoming increasingly obvious that the spread and containment of the Corona virus is affecting public life in sad and many ways. With the safety and well-being of all stakeholders at the forefront of our considerations, we have decided to move the pre-season testing to another location. We are very grateful to all our partners at Monza and Hockenheim for their cooperation in this matter and look forward to visiting Italy in the summer when DTM will be visiting the legendary Monza circuit for the first time."
