The Wachauring in Melk, which serves the ÖAMTC as a driving technique center, was the venue for the first time for an event that is part of the Drift Kings of Europe. The Swiss figurehead in drifting rated the course as a technically demanding high-speed track that is really fun to drive.

This stopped with him when the judges did not give him the expected marks despite two good runs in qualifying.

Yves Meyer: "I'm a bit disappointed by the Judge rating after qualifying. I had hoped for more points..."

Off after an error
He was proud of his entry into the Top 8 after what he thought was a pretty strong push by his opponent in the Top 16 battle.

In the duel for a place in the semifinals, the Lucerne native then made "a stupid mistake" that ended in a spin and meant an early exit. Nevertheless, the Seelisberg team collected valuable points for the championship. In the standings, Yves Meyer is tied with sixth place in seventh intermediate place, with one event less than the direct competition.

Final spurt in the championship
The next trip will be to northern Germany at the end of August, where the penultimate event will take place at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The grand finale takes place on the first weekend in October in Greece. Yves Meyer's goal is another podium after 3rd place in Italy in May.
