Domi Aegerter: Guest start in the Moto2 European Championship
BENZIN STATT ELEKTRO Dominique Aegerter will get another whiff of racing atmosphere and the smell of gasoline on the Valencia GP circuit this week. A thank you from his MotoE team. For Dominique Aegerter, the 2020 racing season is not quite over after all, following the conclusion of the MotoE World Cup, which he was only able to finish third overall after bad luck in an accident at the first of the two final rounds in France.
Return to the Moto2 bike
As a thank-you, so to speak, for his outstanding performance in the electric bike series, his German team has given him a guest start at the last stop for the Moto2 European Championship. The 30-year-old from Berne will start in the colors of the Liqui Moly Intact GP SIC Junior Team.
Dominique Aegerter: "I'm tremendously pleased to be returning to a Moto2 race bike. So my thanks go to Jürgen Lingg and Stefan Keckeisen for making this possible. This class and these bikes just appeal to me incredibly well. Besides, I would have missed it very much if I had not ridden once in Valencia this year. I know the track very well from my years in the World Championship."
Hope for good end of season
Although he is an old hand among the boys in this up-and-coming series, he is cautious with his expectations.
Dominique Aegerter: "Of course I hope that I can bring in super results as a thank you to the team. I think they miss it a little in this championship. Therefore, I will give everything to give them a nice end to the season."

Gasoline vapors instead of electric whirring
Either way, the overall fifth-place finisher in the 2013 and 2014 Moto2 World Championship wants to enjoy the last race weekend of the year and thus also once again gasoline scents before heading into the winter break.
Dominique Aegerter: "What I'm most pleased about is that I'll get to ride a lot, as the event already starts on Wednesday and there is also a race on both Saturday and Sunday in the schedule. Sitting on a race bike is the best training."
The races can be followed live via the series' YouTube channel.
