Dominique Aegerter's agreement with the Ten Kate Racing team has secured him a promising starting place in the Supersport World Championship. The racing team not far from Amsterdam in the Netherlands is the most successful in the series with 600cc production racing machines, having won nine rider titles. The team also won the World Superbike Championship once.

High expectations
There is no question that the 30-year-old motorcycle professional is overjoyed about this new big opportunity.

Dominique Aegerter: "I thank Ronald and Gerit Ten Kate for their trust in me. So for me there is a unique opportunity to ride in this professional and incredibly experienced team. I'm going into this project with the firm attitude of fighting for top positions in the top group in every race right from the start."

No fear of the changeover
In his long career Domi77 already moved many different racing machines - but the Supersport Yamaha R6 will be new for him. His experience should help him to get used to this bike quickly.

Dominique Aegerter: "Adapting my riding style to the Yamaha R6 shouldn't be a big problem. In addition, I can count on the support of the immense experience of the entire team, including my crew chief and the mechanics. They will definitely be a help to make me competitive quickly with this bike."

First test in two months
The first visit to the Ten Kate Racing workshop and the high level of the team already increases his appetite tremendously to start working together on the race track as soon as possible. The first test is scheduled for February.

Dominique Aegerter: "I think me as a Swiss and my Dutch crew will get along well right away. Finally, I would also like to thank my brother Kevin for everything, who has worked incredibly hard for this contract. I will give everything to repay the trust placed in me."

Season starts with home game for the team
The anticipated race calendar for 2021 includes ten fixed events for the time being. The season will start on April 25 at the TT Circuit in Assen, with which Aegerter is very familiar.
