During the break after the Superpole race of the Superbike class and the second Supersport race of the weekend, the sad news about Jason Dupasquier's death became public. The only 19-year-old from Freiburg lost his most important race after the terrible accident in qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix.

Goodbye Jason
Dominique Aegerter was composed when he heard about it and ousted everything until the start shortly after noon. Although his start, as on the previous day when he came in fourth, was not ideal, the Bernese was one of the strongest riders on the track from the start in the half-hour race.

The race was a thriller right to the end, with Aegerter skilfully keeping all his opponents under control in the final laps.

Step forward
For this reason, the sporting aspect became somewhat of a secondary matter. Nevertheless, it was not easy to maintain 100 percent concentration.

Dominique Aegerter: "We've made a big step forward compared to the first race. We were already fighting for the podium yesterday, but in retrospect I probably waited a little too long with my attack. I definitely wanted to avoid this mistake today and take the lead as early as possible."

Ahead of the second intermediate rank in the world championship
After that, the Yamaha rider from the Ten Kate Racing team had everything under control and was finally able to take the much-awaited victory.

Dominique Aegerter: "So a big thank you to the whole team for their good work, and also to all the sponsors and partners who have made it possible for me to ride Supersport World Championship with the Ten Kate Yamaha Team. I have quickly settled in well here. But now I'm also looking forward to next weekend in the MotoE World Cup in Barcelona."

With the fourth place on Saturday and the victory on Sunday Aegerter moves up to second position in the WRC intermediate ranking.
