Aegerter: MotoE title within reach
ALL OR NOTHING Dominique Aegerter is facing what is probably the most important race weekend of his career. To become MotoE World Cup winner, however, everything must go right at the French GP in Le Mans. At the final event of the season, the 30-year-old professional motorcycle racer from the canton of Berne has excellent chances of crowning his rookie season in this still-young category with overall MotoE™ World Cup victory in 2020. To achieve this, he needs to pick up four points in the season finale at the Circuit Bugatti in Le Mans.
Misano pitch ticked off
Italian Matteo Ferrari leads the standings with 86 points ahead of Aegerter (82) and Spaniard Jordi Torres (79). The starting position could be even better, however, if the only Swiss in the field had not been sent to the gravel trap by a competitor two weeks ago in Misano. The day before, Aegerter celebrated his second win of the season at the Emilia Romagna GP.
So Domi #77 will go into the all-important race weekend in Le Mans, France, where the MotoE series is visiting for the first time, in second place overall.
Dominique Aegerter: "I spent the break after Misano well. I've prepared myself perfectly for the task ahead, as well as being top motivated to the tips of my fingers, of course."

Making up for handicap with effort
In contrast to Misano, everyone will have to start from scratch at Le Mans. So everything is balanced, at least at the beginning.
Nevertheless, the Rohrbacher believes his Invicta team could be at a slight disadvantage: He lacks a teammate for data exchange and comparison.
Dominique Aegerter: "We will make up for that with double the effort. Apart from that, the great experience of my team and myself should be a help in this respect."
Concentration on the essentials
Often a big question mark in the Sarthe is the weather. Aegerter is therefore hoping for consistent conditions so that his team can work properly in every session.
He has never ridden the MotoE bike in the wet. Domi is confident, however, that he will be able to make the switch to the electric bike in the rain without too many difficulties.
Dominique Aegerter: "I just try to concentrate on the essentials and on driving. This stop-and-go course suits me anyway. That's why I don't get involved in any arithmetic games. That's just distracting. We have to focus on finishing at the front of the field in qualifying on Saturday so that we have a good starting position for the first race. A good result in the first race is then just as important, as this is also the grid position for the final race on Sunday."
The Swiss TV station SRF will broadcast a recording of both races of the weekend. Broadcasting starts on Saturday at 17:25 and on Sunday at 16:55.
