Aegerter: MotoE is a different world
HARD-WORKED PODIUM Although Dominique Aegerter knew the Misano track, he struggled a bit at first with the electric racing bike. In the end, he managed another podium in his third World Cup race. After his three Moto2 appearances for his compatriot Jesko Raffin, who fell ill in August, Dominique Aegerter did not take long to get used to his electric race bike of the German Dynavolt Intact GP team again.
It was only with the Misano track that the experienced 29-year-old Rohrbacher initially struggled a little. In free practice, he even had a small accident - but at least Aegerter has now also gained this experience.
Learning phase until the race
In the race at the latest, Domi #77 regained his momentum with which the class rookie had already surprised impressively in the opening races in Jerez. However, third place did not fall into his lap.
Dominique Aegerter: "It wasn't until the race that I understood how I had to ride the e-bike on this track so that I could get faster lap times. Unfortunately, I made two or three minor mistakes. That's why direct contact with the leading group was lost once in between."

Important World Cup points
When the Bernese was finally able to leave two rivals behind after a tough battle, he tried to catch up with the leading group. Although Aegerter found the connection in the sprint over seven laps, more than third place behind Matteo Ferrari (I) and Xavier Simeon (B) was no longer possible.
Dominique Aegerter: "Our pace was really strong and the last lap very exciting. I gave everything once again. Much more important than the podium is that I was able to leave my strongest rivals in the Cup standings behind me and thus extend my overall lead a little."
Finally back in front of fans
Aegerter now leads the 2020 MotoE World Cup standings with 57 points ahead of Matteo Ferrari (45) and Spain's Jordi Torres (43). The race continues again next weekend in Misano. Aegerter hopes to benefit from the experience gained and thus start at a higher level.
Before that, he not only thanks the team and sponsors for their hard work and support, but also the organizers in Italy.
Dominique Aegerter: "You have to praise the Italians for managing to bring spectators back to the track with their concept. It was a nice feeling to finally see some Swiss flags with the #77 along the track again. The fans are simply part of our sport, and hopefully we were able to give them a good show."
