Around 90 percent of all companies in Switzerland are family businesses - they are a significant factor in the economy. In recognition of this importance, AMAG launched the Family Business Award in 2012. On the one hand, to recognize the entrepreneurial and sustainable values of family businesses and, on the other, in memory of the company's own founder, Walter Haefner. The award is open to family businesses that are characterized by a sustainable entrepreneurial spirit and employ more than 50 people. In addition, the chairmanship of the board of directors or the operational management must be held by a family member and the majority of the capital must be owned by the family.
