The following family businesses were shortlisted as finalists this year: Blumer-Lehmann AG Gossau, FRAISA SA Bellach and Groupe Volet SA St-Légier. In the presence of prominent representatives from politics and business, the Maushart family from FRAISA SA were delighted to receive the award. The family business joins previous winners of the award Trisa AG (2012), SIGA Holding AG (2013), Entreprises et Domaines Rouvinez (2014) and Wyon AG (2015). All finalists received a Family Business Award certificate attesting to their particularly sustainable entrepreneurial activities. In addition, the companies received a VW Passat Variant GTE plug-in hybrid, which is available to them for one year. As the winning company, FRAISA AG also gets to keep the vehicle.
FRAISA SA produces cutting tools for metalworking. The company was founded in 1934 and is one of the leading manufacturers in the industry with 516 employees at seven locations.
