The Renault Classic Club: At the closing ceremony of 2015, everyone was already looking forward to the new season with Miss Yokohama Roxane Baumann.

In the past, the Renault Classic Club made an effort to hold a round of its Clio Cup, officially recognized by the sporting authority ASS, in Frauenfeld. However, this was often associated with strains, because the day before the popular slalom, the first circuit race in Hockenheim was in the schedule. The teams therefore had to travel to Thurgau immediately without a break. This year, the private club, presided over by Roger D. Meyer from Freienbach and officially supported by Renault Switzerland and Yokohama as tire partner, is concentrating on the circuit opener.

Who will replace Thomas Zürcher as champion?
Fortunately, the boom already recorded in the previous year continues. For 2016, one lady (Johanna Amann from Vorarlberg) and 17 men have registered for the championship. Some of them are switching from the old Clio III to the newer Clio IV, with which Thomas Zürcher was champion in 2015. Young Denis Wolf in particular will try to knock the Bernese driver, who has been unbeaten for four years, off his throne. With Daniel Borer, who was runner-up in 2012, a fast man returns to the Cup. Wolf's father Marcel, who was champion twice in 2009 and 2010, Philipp Krebs, Stefan Zbinden and Ralf Henggeler are also back in the mix. They have all already won isolated runs - all the others are still working on it.
